According to Wikipedia, Jupiter, FL is actually part of the “Miami metropolitan area,” but South Floridians regard it more as a high-standing member of what we call the Tri-County Area.

Jupiter–located in Palm Beach County–has approximately 50,000 residents who all encompass the rich back story of the area, including a long history with Native Americans, which is how the town actually got its name. After explorers mispronounced its Indian name and map makers subsequently and incorrectly transcribed it, the city was eventually named Jupiter, the Roman God of light, sky, and weather.

Jupiter is home to the mouth of the Loxahatchee River, Hobe Sound, and Jupiter Inlet. It is also where you can find the famous Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse, a marvel of functional architecture whose construction was completed in 1860.

A wealth of talent has also been produced by Jupiter, with stars of stage, screen, film, music, arts, sports, and entertainment either born or currently residing in homes located in this sunny beachside community; luminaries such as Tori Amos, Celine Dion, and many more celebrities either currently or formerly called themselves Jupiter residents.

The weather in Jupiter is typical to South Florida, with a hot rainy season, and a cool dry one. The climate is very temperate, humidity is high, and air conditioning is absolutely mandatory.

Without the cooling comfort of conditioned air, life in Jupiter is nowhere near as idyllic as it currently stands.
